Nothing Compares to Family
Brooke Burke
An American TV personality, entrepreneur and sometime model, Brooke’s big break came when she was tapped to replace original host Jules Asner on E!’s Wild On, traveling to hot spots around the world. She continued her career as TV host on Rock Star for two seasons; and in 2007, she started her company, Baboosh Baby, a specialty line for expectant mothers. In 2008, she joined various celebrities on Dancing with the Stars. The first to receive a 10 from a single judge, and the only couple to receive a perfect score from all the judges during the season, Brooke and her partner, Derek Hough, were named winner of the show on November 25, 2008. She also co-hosted the 2009 Golden Globes Red Carpet show on NBC.

Brooke has four children: Neriah, Sierra Sky, Heaven Rain, and Shaya Braven. She is currently engaged to actor/singer David Charvet. SKECHERS joins Brooke in support of the Cedars-Sinai Women’s Cancer Research Institute at the Samuel Oschin Comprehensive Cancer Institute.

About the Cedars-Sinai Women’s Cancer Research Institute
Cedars-Sinai Women’s Cancer Research Institute at the Samuel Oschin Comprehensive Cancer Institute works to “reduce the threat of cancer to women through research, education, early detection and prevention” (csmc.edu/7199.html).

Established in January 2002, the Women’s Cancer Research Institute works alongside Cedars-Sinai’s patient care programs and services, allowing innovative research to integrate with the hands-on prevention, diagnosis and treatment of women’s cancers.

To achieve its goals, the institute offers grants to researchers and scientists to more thoroughly investigate certain research ideas. The Institute also hosts monthly seminars to encourage and facilitate discussion and information-sharing between researchers and clinicians.

The Institute also offers clinics for women with gynecologic or breast cancers, and cancer prevention education through public service announcements, brochures, and seminars.

Partnering with Run For Her, the 5K Run and Friendship Walk to support ovarian cancer research and awareness, the Institute will receive all proceeds from the 2009 run/walk.
