These are indeed the best running shoes ever. I have been wearing sketchers and then shape ups since they came out. I work on my feet all day long so shoe endurance and comfort are very important and make a huge difference in entire body fatigue. Since I started running, I kept saying that sketchers needs to come out with a running shoe because they have so much support in their shoes. Then I found these. They were a bit pricey but so are the other running shoes so gave them a try. It took about 2 weeks to adjust to the midsole strike, but have run a full marathon in them and all the long runs leading up to it with no foot soreness or fatigue. To see if they really made a difference, I ran one long distance(20 miles) in my old Nike pair, and oh did my feet ache and feel tired so back to my prospeeds and no achy tired feet or body. Well worth it. Only con, even though they feel normal to try on size wise, you really need to go up a half size if you are going to do any distance running or activity that normally causes your feet to enlarge. They are also a narrower shoe in the forefoot or midsole than Nike or Adidas. Definitely would recommend this shoe to other runners.

I have back pain problem. My doctor says that a good shoes is very important to protect our legs and back. That's the reason why I decide to buy a good shoes and I choose Sckechers. At first,I feel like this shoes is very comfortable. But then, after wearing it walking for a few hours, I feel like my legs is hurt and so was my back. I broke my foot a couple months ago. My doctor just gave me permission to start putting weight on my foot. I read about these shoes and decided to order them in hopes that they would provide the comfort and support that I would need. These shoes have been great! They have been a huge help. Thank you Skechers for a great pair of shoes at a great price!

            • Q:

Okay between the Prospeed and the Proresistance, how does one decide? Will be using them for the same purpose, long distance running (around 5-7 miles per week) Would love for shock absorption PLUS the workout of my lower calf muscles. I'm looking up resamax versus resalyte tech. and the only thing i can find is that resamax has slightly more stability. Is this stability needed for over pronators? Meaning, who would pick the resamax tech. over the prospeed resalyte technology?

                A:

The main difference between the two, as far as I can discern from wearing them, is that the Pro Resistance is a very small bit heavier (still very lightweight) and more stabilized than the ProSpeed. The Resistance is meant more for 'training running' while the ProSpeed is supposed to be for 'racing/performance running.' From running in both I can tell you that I prefer the feel of the ProSpeed - it's still pretty well stabilized, and something about the upper design just feels better to me.

                A:

The ProSpeed shoes are a non-leather upper (synthetic and mesh) so you should be able to clean them by hand with mild soap, warm water and a soft cloth. I don't recommend machine washing the shoes as it may damage the midsole.

I actually don't see a ProSpeed in red and white that is currently available - maybe you were looking at the 53500 men's GOrun in red/black/white? That color should be coming into stock for women as well.

I have the original shape-ups which is great when you have to do alot of standing but seem a little heavy for fast paced walking. I fast pace walk every other day. Which shoe do you recommend for me? I have very narrow, flat feet with long toes and heel sensitive. Which shoe do you recommend for me and is it true that you should have two pair and alternate between walks? I also have weak ankles. What do you think about the Shape-up Surge for me? Also, I always have trouble opening up your emails but no problems when I google Skechers.

I would recommend one of our new lightweight Fitness shoes - The Shape-ups LIV or the ProSpeed are both very good for fast walking. The Surge would also be a good choice.

I currently am on my second pair of regular SRR and notice that there is a new design of the pro speed SRR, is there much of a difference? I ask because I have terrible back pain and nothing makes my back feel good except the SRR for running, exercising or just walking. And could I still obtain a pair of the original SRR? thanks

The original Resistance Runner design has now evolved into the ProSpeed and Pro Resistance running shoes - I also am a fan of the original Resistance Runner, but I do like the lighter weight and sleeker ProSpeed quite a lot. The ProSpeed reminds me a lot of the Resistance Runner, just lighter and easier to wear.

            • Q:

At my doctor's office, I read an article about how shoes like Shape-Ups improve balance and are easier on your knees. I tried on the ProSpeed shoes at a local store, and loved the feel of the rocker sole, the strong arch, and the bounce these shoes have. I tend to put more weight on the outside of my feet, and the ProSpeed shifted my weight right up toward my big toe - it was fantastic! I was so disappointed when I found that they don't exist in wide sizes! What shoe (or shoes) that comes in wide widths is most similar to the ProSpeed?

(Durability due to heavy, regular use is also important. Additionally, I may be using this shoe over a variety of indoor and outdoor surfaces.)

              Thanks!

While currently the ProSpeeds are not available in wide widths, there are some other Shape-ups shoes available, these have a similarly comfortable design, though they would not be as lightweight as the running shoes. Check out the Shape-ups Energy Blast as an example of a Shape-ups shoe in a wide width.

I'm not a competitive runner, im just starting out and was wondering if maybe the srr resitance might have been a better buy? Please let me know which shoe will be more comfortable in terms of pain in the middle of the foot, which shoe is better for someone who is just starting out, and also which is more comfortable for everyday wear.

                A:

If you just bought the ProSpeeds, you should ease into wearing them so that your feet and legs get used to the new feeling. Once you get used to the shoes your feet should not hurt. I'd say that the ProSpeed is a better suited shoe for your needs - the Pro Resistance has even more support in the arch, so the milder feel of the ProSpeed is better for a flatter foot.

If you normally wear a size 5 in an athletic shoe, I do recommend you try to get the size you normally wear. You don't necessarily get more use out of a shoe if it's a size bigger - you should get running shoes in the correct size to guarantee the best comfort and fitness effect.

The ProSpeed is really best for runners with a neutral gait. For pronators I would tend to recommend the Pro-TR as it has improved stability.
