I just got the Skechers Liv about 5 days ago and the store associate advised me to break them in first, about a hour walk. I did just that but I went over a hour and my foot was a little sore by the end of the day. I have flat feet and was given orthodics by my foot doctor, I hate the orthodics I tried to break them in an I just could not get use to them. So I saw these shoes in a magazine, I like that the sole of these shoes it is not as huge at the original one's and I just like this look better. So these shoes are so comfortable and lightweight I am looking to buy another pair soon, so I can have one to workout in and one to just wear casually. After I broke them in I got on the treadmill and my feet was just fine, no soreness nothing and the support for my flat foot feels great. And oh you don't need to wear socks they are sock fit already!

Cute style, Needs more support

Needs more support on the top. The "sock fit" doesn't work for me.

I got these shoes for work I stand or walk all day anywhere from 6 to 10 hours depending on my shift. I work as a cashier in a store plus doing stocking and trash detail. I got these in the hopes that they would keep my ankles and knees from hurting and they do!!! Plus they have lasted longer than any other shoe I have bought for work. Will get another pair of these when I need to replace the ones I have now.

What's the difference between the Shape-ups liv and liv achieve? I have the original shape-ups and I love them but I know these are a little more light weight. I'm looking for an all around shoe that I can be on my feet all day in, workout in, jog in, etc. I like the looks of of the liv achieve, will those do?

                A:

The Achieve is a slightly different design than the Liv, but they're essentially the same shoe in terms of fit, feel, comfort and support. The Achieve has a somewhat different look in the upper. I do recommend the Liv for wearing all day, working out and jogging, they're very good shoes for comfort and support.

I was just told by one of your telephone reps that Liv and your other rocker shoes should not be worn on an elliptical machine. Then I found your answer to the same question here, and you stated that it can be worn on ellipticals. Would you please clarify?

I need a lot of cushioning for my feet and your shape ups (Metabolize) have been the only athletic shoe that has ever allowed me to do cardio walks without experiencing forefoot pain. I now want to try the newer lower profile style Liv, and I was hoping that it will also allow me to also use the elliptical.

Shape-ups definitely can be worn on an elliptical. They provide comfort and support for walking and most low-impact fitness workout activities.

Hi, I recently bought a skechers shape ups Style #12470 CCAQ to put on during my work time. I stand more than 8 hours at work and had hoped that my new shoes would help me but during my last few uses I have noted that these shoes caused severe pain in my foot. I never felt this kind of pain even when i used the regular shoes. Why is that? Could someone pls answer my question? tku

                A:

The women's Shape-ups LIV shoe are a rocker bottom design, and because of this, some people experience some muscle pain when they first wear the shoe, especially if they go right into wearing them for a long period of time without getting used to them. Because you stand and walk differently in a rocker bottom shoe, I recommend you stop wearing them for a little while, then ease into wearing them for a half hour, then a little longer as you get used to the different feel. A lot of customers tell us that LIVs are very comfortable and supportive for their work time, but you do need to get used to them first.

                A:

I would definitely recommend the LIV as a good shoe for standing and walking - if you have worn the Shape-ups or any rocker bottom shoe you know that they have good arch support and cushioning, and the LIV combines that with a very light weight and flexiblity. I have a pair in the men's sizes, and they're my go-to shoes for lots of standing and walking.

                A:

I find the LIV shoe to be very nicely supportive and cushioned, and the rocker bottom provides some stability by allowing the foot to adjust its stride naturally. There are other shoes that provide a bit more stability as well, such as the Kinetix training sneaker, or the Fuse running shoe.

I'd recommend the LIV shoes in a wide width - they are currently the best combination of lightweight and flexible design with great comfort and support, and five different models are available in a women's wide width.

Yes, I would say that the LIV shoes have very good arch support. They have a very light and flexible midsole, but the slight rocker bottom design gives excellent support in the midfoot.

I recommend the LIV shoes especially for walking and lower impact fitness activities, the GOrun for walking and running, and the Fuse or Speed shoes for all-around cross training. There is a training version of the GOrun coming soon called the GOtrain, those should be especially good for high impact fitness training.

The LIV is a newer and lighter weight shoe than the S2 Lite, it's got a lower and more flexible midsole. The S2 Lite has a bit more support and a bit higher midsole.
