Comments about Highlanders - Alpine Valley:

I love these shoes! I needed some warm boots that were waterproof for a trip to Boise in January. I had no idea that my feet could stay so warm even in single digit temperatures! These were great - I think my feet were the warmest part of me the whole trip and usually it's the opposite. They also fit really well. I'm a size 8 and I was able to wear them with a good pair of socks (on the thicker side, which was nice). I wasn't sure how they would work out when I ordered them, but I couldn't have asked for a better shoe! Highly recommended!

Comments about Highlanders - Alpine Valley:

Although it is summer time, I bought the boots in the clearance section for a good price. They should work very well in the winter while getting around in the snow and cold weather. I like the zip up back to boot which makes it easy on and easy off.

I have never been disappointed in a Skechers product. I'm hoping these boots also give some traction on ice(something next to impossible to find). They are GREAT in the snow.

            Q:

Hi I'm planning to visit NY in March, I've read weather can be cold and rainy so I want something nice that are waterproof. I am in between these ones and the Synergy (skechers boots) which are best? I think the laces look a little too sporty on the synergy's but the highlanders don't have laces and they say it is difficult to put in. WHich should be the best option? Which are more comfortable? Also my size is 6,5 / 7 on the wide side. Normally for sneakers that are medium i buy 7.5 size. However i would like to know if it is the best option to get the 7,5 or do these boots run small or big? Thanks in advance!

              A:

I personally like the Synergy boot a little better - having spent some time walking in cold, rainy conditions, I would recommend the Synergy's more athletic flexible lightweight sole design. The Highlander boot is very good as well, and it does have a back zipper so it's not too hard to put on and take off. I'd just give the Synergy the edge for comfort.
