I just ordered a pair of these boots. These are the same boots that I have been wearing for five years or more. I was working in a convenience store and needed a pair of boots that kept my feet warm while stocking the cooler, and kept me from slipping during the winters on the wet floor. I could not find a pair that prevented me from slipping until I bought these. I absolutely love them. I wore them for years in the Upstate NY snow when I brought the kids out to play, wore them shoveling snow, and in the rain, everyday to work at the store, etc. Then I moved to Texas and brought them with me. I paint and stain outdoor fences, landscape, shovel manure, work on a ranch, lay ceramic tile, and work as a handywoman. I wore these poor boots to death. I have been here for three years, had them up in NY for at least two years, maybe more. They lasted and lasted and lasted and the traction on these boots is excellent...still! I added a pic below. They look like they have a hole in them but they don't. There are still three layers of material. These boots are rock solid. I'm STILL wearing them! It's time to retire them though and that's why I just ordered another pair of what I believe are the same boot, except the pair I have now do not say waterproof. I've had them so long I don't remember if they were or not. I ordered them off the website and these are the only ones on here like them, so they have to be it. When I ordered them last time I ordered them a bit too big. I was afraid if I ordered the wrong size I would have to return them, so I figured bigger was better. That's why I can't say whether they run true to size or not. I'll check back when I receive them!

These boots were listed as waterproof motorcycle boots, but they're not. My first time wearing them I was caught in rain and they let the water in very quickly. True waterproof motorcycle boots would have the tongue attached most of the way up, but the tongue on these is only attached at the very bottom so the rain easily leaks in through the lace area. I'm sure if I was wearing these to hike in they'd be waterproof up to a couple of inches, but that's not what they were billed as. Also, it was cool for the first couple of days and cold air was constantly coming in the same way water did. That's great for hot summer riding, but again, that's not what I bought these for. They don't offer any where near the protection I'd hoped for from a motorcycle boot. That said, they appear durable and well-made. They fit well enough, though I got bad blisters when I hiked up a half-mile hill.

              Q:

These boots look pretty chunky but are they lightweight or heavy?

                A:

The Rager boot is lighter than it appears, about middle weight but a good solid waterproof comfortable boot.

              Q:

I am torn between this Rager and the Work-Peril St. Both have the extra ankle support I was looking for. I know the Peril is steel toed and this Rager one is waterproof.
              - What about heel height comparisons?
              - Which has better traction?
              - What about arch support in both?

                A:

The Rager is a waterproof casual ankle boot, it has a lug traction outsole and a 1 1/2 inch heel height. It has a Memory Foam insole for comfort and support.

The Peril is a steel toe work boot, so it's a bit heavier due to the toe. Is has about a 1 1/4 inch heel, and a similar lug traction outsole. It also has a Memory Foam insole for comfort and support.

I'd say the Rager would be more recommended unless you want or need a steel toe boot.

The boots have a leather upper, so they should stretch out a little bit. You could also get these professionally stretched if you need a bit more room in the toe.

I would recommend the Rager boot for wearing in a snowy condition - they are waterproof, and have a lug rubber traction outsole that should have a good grip.

While they're not specifically made for motorcycle riding, the Rager boot is a durable, tough boot that's waterproof and comfortable. I'd say they should hold up well for riding.
