I have 6 pair of this Memory Foam sneaker. I am diabetic and have pain in the bottom of my feet. These shoes are wide enough and so comfortable I do not have pain when wearing them. I have recommended them to others with foot problems. Thanks for offering this extra wide width, that is so hard to find elsewhere. Please keep selling them, and maybe offer Memory Foam, Extra Extra Wide in other styles. I know I'd buy them.

the shoes i feel are of poor quality but they fit my foot . i wear them 1-2 hours a day to walk in never in snow or rain. the inserts are the most comfortable ever they last 2-4 weeks then wear thru that is a week and a half of all day wear. the thread starts coming apart in 5-6 months
that is not very durable for two hours a day . but they fit me. my last NB UNDER THE SAME USE WOULD LAST 2-4 YEARS they quit making that model

Skecher's needs to stock stores with more of the 4E width shoes. I went to a local store and they checked for other stores in the area and none of them had the width and style I wanted. I had a reward amount built up but could not use on an internet purchase.

Shape-ups shoes are currently discontinued. We are collecting customer sentiment to review bringing them back.

            Q:

Is this line most comparable to the old "Shape Ups"? If not, do you have a product that is? I need that old rocker-style sole for my feet. Thank you!

For similar levels of comfort and arch support I would recommend looking at the Skechers GOrun Ultra Road or GOtrail shoes, the Skechers GOwalk 4 shoes, Burst models and Skech-Flex 2.0 models.

            Q:

I need a 10.5 size in wide width, but see those are currently unavailable in the Navy color. Any idea when they will be back in stock? Also, I've had a pair of these for a little over a year and love them, but the inserts wore out. With different inserts, they are not the same shoe. I was told you don't sell the inserts. Are there any that you recommend as equivalent? Hoping I can get another pair before they are discontinued! Thanks!

It looks like the Strike Off model should be coming back into stock in the navy 10.5 Wide around early April or so. It's a slightly different shoe, but I also like the Equalizer 2.0 - True Balance in an Extra Wide in navy, which is in stock now. For a replacement insole I would recommend using a 'Sport Gel' or similar high cushion, high support replacement insole - the shoes are made for great cushioning and arch support, so a replacement insole should have the same.

Yes, you should be able to pull the insole out with a little extra force.

            Q:

I was told via the phone by Skechers HQ that there used to be a vegan version of the shoe- will Skechers bring that back, or replace the leather with synthetic? Also, why isn't the black version of this shoe listed on this site?

The Black/Black version of the After Burn Memory Fit - Strike Off model is currently sold out on skechers.com. There are other After Burn Memory Fit shoes in the black/black currently available. I don't see a vegan version of this same shoe available, though there are several black/black athletic shoes that are vegan, such as the Skech Air 2.0 - Zero Gravity, the Equalizer 2.0 Settle the Score, and the Burst - Deal Closer.

I would recommend an athletic shoe that ties, and has a full length Memory Foam insole - this shoe has both of those features.

Is it normal to feel a ridge in the memory foam under the toe joints behind the toes and and ahead of the ball of the foot?

              A:

It can be - you may want to make sure the insole isn't bunched up or wrinkled. If not, this might be the natural feel of the Memory Foam supporting your ball of foot area.

In the men's Extra Wide Fit I like the Cross Court TR as well as the After Burn Memory Fit - they're both like the classic styles, but with extra comfort due to the insoles.

          • Q:

            Two Questions:

            1) I notice that on almost all of the afterburn styles, you either have MEDIUM or EXTRA WIDE. I am looking for 3E or 4E which would be your description of WIDE. Why do you not offer these shoes in a WIDE? What should I do, because the old afterburns were the shoes I found most comfortable and they were offered as WIDE.

            2) What is special/different about the STRIKE-OFF version of the shoe? I cant see a diffrence between them and the regular after-burns.

              A:

The original Energy - After Burn, style 50081, are currently available in the Wide Fit, which is a men's 3E width. If you liked the original design, it is still available in that width. The After Burn Memory Fit is the same shoe but with a Memory Foam insole for increased comfort, that version comes in the Extra Wide width to ensure we offer a good variety of widths.

The Strike Off is just another variant of the same After Burn Memory Fit sneaker, it has a slightly different look in the upper with those two vertical stripes on the side, and a bit more mesh fabric in the front and sides. Same type of shoe though.

          • Q:

When you refer to men's shoe widths. What is wide and extra wide comparable to in the sizes of E, EE, EEE, 4E, 5E, 6E? I am looking for a work shoe, hard toe but not a requirement, but preferred, in a wide width 4E or wider.
            Thanks, Dennis

              A:

Skechers men's wide width is generally a 3E/4E width. The Extra Wide Width is a 5E/6E width. This shoe comes in the Extra Wide width - if you like a 4E or wider, you should try this width.
