These are my all around shoes. I work in these. I practice tai chi in these. I wear them most of the day. The only thing I do not do in these is run or use the elliptical machine. They are comfortable fit for me, but are a little on the looses side to run or use an elliptical. I have another pair of skecher running shoes for that purpose. I am currently on the 3rd pair of this model and have an extra pair for the near future in box. I think I have been buying skechers for well over 10 years now. Good value.

Great comfort, poor quality.

Very comfortable shoes, but the quality was very bad. After three months of daily walking, parts of the sole were coming apart and holes in the leather developed.

I have a Morton Neuroma on my left foot for which I use a metatarsal pad in every pair of my shoes and sneakers, except for my three pair of Skechers. No pain as a result of the cushioned pad. Great shoes.

We have been on a quest for the past ten years to find a comfortable and durable shoe to meet my husband's size 12EEE feet. AS soon as he tried them on, he was in heaven. I have already purchased 2 more pairs because he loves them so much.He wears them everywhere! Thank you Sketchers for creating a shoe that makes my hubby happy.

Currently Skechers.com carries 70 different shoes in a men's Wide Fit, which is a 3E width. There are an additional 30 shoes available in an Extra Wide Fit, which is a 5E width. This particular Vigor 2.0 Trait model is one of the shoes available in a Wide Fit, the option is under 'Width' on the product page.

The wide fit in this Vigor 2.0 shoe is equivalent to a men's 3E width, which is very close to a 4E.

                  Q:

I purchased these shoes while on vacation in Florida. The first day I wore these, I almost slipped and fell in a restaurant. I figured there was something oily on the tile floor.

When I got back to NYC, I realized that the traction on these shoes are terrible when the soles are wet. Trying to walk on terrazzo floors is terrifying if my soles are wet from rain outside. I even slip when I step on the white lines in the crosswalk! Is there something I can do about this? I can't return them to the store in Florida, and they have no stores in NY.

                  They are incredibly comfortable, though.

                    Bad Bad tread design.
All these other comments are by people that have not worn them on various wet surfaces.
Sketchers has other designs with memory foam and good tread.

There are many Skechers Retail stores in NYC, but you may be referring to a different retailer. The Vigor 2.0 - Trait is not classified as a 'Slip Resistant' traction outsole, but should have decent traction on most surfaces. The rubber soles may need to be 'broken in' a little bit to get the traction where you need it. I recommend walking on gravel or small stones, something like that. It should soften up the rubber and get the tread more grippy.

The Vigor 2.0 - Trait has a very good traction outsole, but it does not have a tested 'Slip Resistant' outsole if you require that for a workplace. There are several similar styles of shoes available in our Work category that do have the Slip Resistant outsole.

If you are planning on wearing the Vigor 2.0 in the rain, I would recommend applying a waterproofing treatment for leather to the leather parts of the shoe, and a fabric waterproofing treatment like Scotchguard to the fabric parts. That should keep your feet from getting too wet, at least in a moderate rain.

The Memory Foam insole should last a little longer than a normal insole, thanks to the memory retention property. It can replaced with a similar Memory Foam insole (from a different brand) or similar comfort insole if they wear out.

One of the reasons that I buy these shoes is they come in Wide so that I can tie them sorta snugly, but still just pull them on afterwards without tying/untying. They are EXTREMELY comfortable and you can walk in em all day long. Make sure you get the "Vigor 2.0 Trait" they are the only Vigors I have found with memory foam insoles.

The Vigor 2.0 - Trait is a lace up shoe that ties. You could swap out the laces for elastic laces (which are available at several different types of stores) to convert them into slip-ons, or just leave them tied loose.
