Pros: Extremely comfortable and very light. Looks good too but I am told, they look like moccasins.

Cons: Diagonal crease developed in just a week of use. Also, the top has a mesh that traps dirt easily.

I will return and hope that they come up with better design/materials of the top.

          • Equalizer - Persistent

            Q:

Could you please suggest the shoes to walking / everyday usage, mostly in summer time. I'm trying to decide between the Equalizer Persistent and GORun 400. What's your opinion? Thanks!
Asked on 4/1/2017 by Ilya from Minsk, Belarus

              A:

I would recommend the Skechers GOrun 400 or GOwalk 4 models for comfort, support and everyday wear. The Equalizer - Persistent is very popular and one of our top sellers, but there are more recent models with the Air Cooled Memory Foam insoles that are probably even better for wear in hot weather like the Equalizer 2.0 model.

          • Equalizer - Persistent

            Q:

I would like to know if it is normal for the memory foam, in the front of the shoe, to not bounce back and form indentation?
I love the persistent model shoe, but need this question answered. Also, what is the warranty on these shoes ?
Asked on 1/26/2017 by Ness from KY

            1 answer

            • Staff Reviewer

              A:

The original Skechers Memory Foam shoes normally are meant to compress to the form made by your feet, and stay compressed in that form in order to provide a customized type fit and support level. So it is normal after several uses for the Memory Foam to stay compressed. The Gel Infused and Air Cooled Memory Foam insoles are a little bit more non-compressive. These shoes can be returned in an unworn condition within 45 days of purchase. If there is a defect, please contact Customer Service and they can replace.

What is the difference between the Skechers Persistent and the Double Play ? the look the same to me .

            • Staff Reviewer

              A:

They are similar styles, for sure. The main difference is that the Persistent model has mesh fabric and smooth synthetic in the upper, and the Double Play is all knit mesh fabric for a smoother look.

The men's Wide Fit is a 2E/3E width, so if you would normally wear that width, I would recommend trying these.

I take public transportation for work every day and at times need to run from the parking lot to catch the train. Are these a good option for minimal running? Do they provide good support for the feet and knees while running?

              A:

The Equalizer Persistent is based on the Equalizer training shoe, so the midsole and comfort should be good for lots of walking and perhaps even a jog. I don't necessarily recommend running in any slip on shoes unless you're fully comfortable doing that, but you may also want to look at lace-up versions of the Equalizer, which may be better for your commuter sprints.

A 4E/5E width is more of the Extra Wide fit on our site. In that width, there are shoes such as the Burst, GOrun 400, and Equalizer 2.0 models. There is also a casual slip on, the Superior - Milford, available in the Extra Wide Fit.

The Equalizer shoes do have a good traction outsole, but they are not considered to be a Slip Resistant shoe if you need that type of shoe for a workplace requirement. The Flex Advantage - McAllen SR shoe style 77048 is a very similar design sporty slip on that does have the Slip Resistant outsole.

              A:

The insoles of the CHAR colored Persistent are topped with red fabric. I'd recommend giving the insole of the shoes a spray with Scotchgard or a similar fabric protectant product to help keep the red on the sole and off your feet. The dye should not affect the color of the shoe, but I would recommend removing the insole if that's a concern when you wash these. Or clean by hand using mild soap, warm water and a soft cloth.
