Bought these for husband who has feet that are deformed somewhat due to arthritis and needs a wider shoe that is soft but durable. He can't wear his orthotics due to the pain he has from the bump (bone) that is protruding on the bottom of his foot. Nothing is comfortable. His other tennis/sport shoes lose their shape very fast and really aren't that comfortable. He hasn't worn these very much, but so far so good. They are light weight and that is a plus. I saw an ad on TV where Howie Long was wearing them and said they were wide width and very comfortable. I would like to get him a few pairs if they work, but he thinks they're too expensive.

I am a big man 6'6". 300 lbs., with big wide feet. I have been looking for a shoe like this for years. I first noticed it ona commercial with Howie Long so I thought I would try them. I am so glad I did. Feels like I'm wearing bedroom slippers all the time. I use them mostly to work out in the gym. I plan on buying my second pair for causal wear.

Hello is this a good shoe to workout in? Not just running but for full body exercises ?

The Equalizer 2.0 model is a very good cross training shoe, suitable for workout and fitness activities including interval jogging or treadmill running. I can also recommend the GOtrain shoes for more of a running shoe with cross training capacity.

          • Equalizer 2.0 - True Balance

            Q:

Skechers used to be known for 'rocker sole' shoes, which is what I want and need for my feet. I'm 62 with bad big toe joints (arthritis & spurs) which prevents me from pushing off without pain(ex: can't do shin push ups). I need a stiff rocker type sole that is also extra wide. Is the Skecher "Equalizer 2.0 - True Balance" considered a stiff rocker type sole shoe? If not, how similar might it be to the old rockers (which is what I need but they are all too narrow)?

It sounds like you are looking for Skechers Shape-ups, which were available earlier in the year in an updated version, but are currently sold out. In a men's Extra Wide I would recommend the Equalizer 2.0 shoes, Monaco TR or After Burn shoes as sport shoes with good solid soles and lots of comfort.

Are the Extra Extra Wide shoes equal to a "6E"? I think the Extra Wide shoes equal to a "4E".

            Thank You.

The Extra Extra Wide Fit are equivalent to a 6E width. The Extra Wide is more of a 4E/5E width.
