I have worn Sketcher Shape-Ups for my work shoes about 3 years. With my line of work (Sales/Route Driver) I am on my feet 12+ hours/day. I had been wearing the leather Shape-Ups X T
(Style 52000EW - approx. 1 lb/shoe) and they would last me about 6 months, before breaking down. I really, really liked them. When I went to get another pair, my size (8.5 Wide) was not available. So, I decided to go with the newer style, Shape-ups Liv - Smart (mesh & approx. 1/2 lb/shoe). I ordered the same size as the leather ones. They were Great, so light weight I didn't think I had shoes on & comfort was great. Then after about a week of wearing, I noticed the following: WIDTH - too big (due to the "mesh" stretching), SOLE'S - will get rocks (big & small) in between where they bend (very bendable)and that hurts, it feels like you're walking on Rocks!! DURABILITY - 3 months tops. Over-all I WOULD recommend these shoes, but NOT for work, or rocky areas, and if you normally purchase Wide width, really consider that the "Mesh" will stretch more vs. leather.
****Before my DURABILITY issue, I did order a second pair(size 8.5) and they fit much better, & the COMFORT & LIGHT WEIGHT IS GREAT!!!

I wish I could find a pair like the white running shape ups I own now as they have finally worn after 13+ months of usage. I like the style of the LIV shoes, but for some reason, they are causing some pain and discomfort on the outer left foot. I use them for exercise, casual wear, and much more. I also use my 2nd pair which is Shape Ups walking Black. And they are the best. I just now wore out the first pair after 13+ months of usage. I think Shape Ups are great and would like to keep buying them, especially the black ones. Please don't ever stop selling those. I don't care if some people don't like the design. Those shoes are my best friends. LIV shoes hopefully will break in better over time, so I'll give them more of a chance. I wish the LIV shoes had the trademark Shape Ups look with all that cushion. It helps to balance my feet. Anyway, I am neutral as of now!

Sketchers are one of the few shoes that are made in wide widths. They are always comfortable and never aggrivate the foot problems I have. I wear them everywhere. I have the loafer style I wear for dress and the tennis shoe type I wear for casual and for working in the yard. Even though you had to reclaim your benefits of the Shape Ups, they really work for me. Thank you.
Shoes have cushioned, built up arches, designed to have your foot strike the ground arch first, not heel first. This has made astonishing difference to my ability to walk with a badly arthritic right knee.
First bought the Liv-Balance in a size 11 (my normal shoe size) but had to return those because it was half an inch too small and felt too narrow. My feet were uncomfortable. So after returning them and getting a size 11.5, wide width from the Liv-Smart collection, I finally have the perfect shoes that fit with my high arches and feels comfortable with my arthritic feet. I would recommend these to a friend, but would tell them to get half an inch larger than your normal shoe size.
I wear these shoes to work. I am a teacher and on my feet all day. I love the feel of the midfoot strike. My heels have not bothered me since I started wearing them.

Q:Will you be stocking the Shape-Ups Liv in wide widths? I'm looking for an 8.5 Wide in the Black/Gray or all Black.
A:Currently it looks like the Liv should be coming into stock in a black/grey wide width size 8.5 around early May, and it is currently in stock in the grey/blue color in that size/width.
Q:I just brought a pair of Skechers Shape-Ups Liv, I have read many places, including on this page, that they gave some extra height compared to normal sneakers, around 2 inches, but mine only seem to give 3 cm, which is what normal sneakers give, so is it just the Shape-Ups Liv who only gives 3 cm in height, or is that way for every Shape-Ups?
A:The Shape-ups LIV are the newest version of the Shape-ups and have a much lower profile and lighter weight than the earlier versions of the Shape-ups like the men's Shape-ups XT. Those shoes featured a much more prominent rocker bottom, and could add 1 1/4 inches to your height. The LIVs would add less than that.
Q:I just bought a pair of the Men's Shape Up Liv Smart sneakers. I also have some orthotic inserts that I wear with most shoes. I find that the orthotics sometimes move while wearing the Shape Up Liv shoes, which can make the shoes very uncomfortable. Is it okay to wear orthotics with them? Any negatives?
A:The LIV shoes are made to be worn with orthotic insoles if you normally wear them. The orthotics may not be the correct size or shape to wear with the shoes, but you should be able to glue them in place to keep them from shifting around. I'd recommend using rubber cement or Shoe Goo adhesive to stick the backs of the orthotics in place inside the shoes.
Q:I'm 34 with arthritis but it is under control. I do not have flat feet but I do not have too much arch either. I am on my feet ALL day long. Except for boots, any other low ankle shoe I wear only lasts me 3 months because I wear out the lateral sides of the shoes. The Nike Shox and the Air Max have given the most comfort and seem to last longer. I am wondering if any of these would help my feet feel comfortable for a long period of time? Which ones would you recommend for issues such as mine?
A:I would recommend that you try a pair of Shape-ups - the Shape-ups XT is a perennial favorite as it is a good all around shoe, and gives excellent arch support.
Q:thank you for your answer to my last question,i have another one,in wide models where can we see the sign of wide model? and i have a knee ace,for daily use XT is OK for me or LIV?
A:On a wide width shoe, you can look at the label inside the shoe or on the shoebox, and it will have EW after the style number. The wide width Shape-ups XT for example would have style number 52000EW. The Shape-ups XT or the men's Shape-ups LIV should be very good for daily use.
Q:Is this shoe available in wide size now.
A:It looks like the wide widths for the men's Liv-Smart should be coming out in early to mid December or so.
Q:Needing a lightweight, high-cushioning SHECHERS shoe to pack in luggage for traveling, is this shoe viable for playing tennis?
A:I would definitely recommend the LIV - Smart as a comfortable and super light weight shoe to take traveling. I'd say these would be fine for tennis as well. I would also recommend the Pro-TR shoes, they are also nicely light weight, and would be a bit more stabilized for more activities.
A:I would not use these shoes, or any shoes with an elevated mid-sole and/or rocker design, for tennis. Tennis requires lateral support due to the heavy side to side movement. I would reccomend the 'Glide' or 'Flight' shape up shoes. I use the Glide for tennis and they work very well.
Q:hello, I want to know if the men's shape-ups liv Smart shoes are suitable for running a marathon race. Thanks
A:The men's LIV shoes are optimized for running, and are best for a neutral gait. They offer great cushioning and should be good for long distance running. They are super light weight, which is good for a marathon shoe. I'd also suggest the ProSpeed as a marathon shoe, those have a bit more support but are similarly very light weight.
A:These shoes are lightweight enough to run a marathon race. FYI: You must wear socks with them; otherwise, you will get blisters.
Q:What is the difference between the Men's Shape-ups Liv-Smart shoe and the Men's Shape-ups XT? Also, you show the Liv-Smart with medium width and the XT can go to a wide width. What's the difference between the Medium and Wide width?
A:The men's medium width is a D width and the wide width is a 3E width. The Liv-Smart is a much lighter weight and more flexible shoe than the Shape-ups XT shoe, it is optimized for running and jogging, which the XT is not really ideal for. The XT is a bit more stabilized and sturdy, but the Liv-Smart is the new generation of Shape-ups shoes.
Q:Dear Sirs, such as shoes recommended to run a fast race and which recommended to run a marathon?
A:I would recommend the ProSpeed shoes for both - they are ideally suited for running both quickly as in a sprint and longer distances such as a marathon. I would also recommend the Pro Resistance, but the Pro Speeds are lighter weight and ideal for competitive running.
