Forget being skeptical about Skecher's as a legitimate running shoe, these shoes are the real deal. The day I got these I slapped them on and ran a sub 28 minute 5 mile, literally my lungs couldn't keep up with my legs the design of the shoe encourages a very fast leg turnover. Very comfortable, when I first tried them on I could notice the mid foot bump and thought I wouldn't like it, but once I got to running I didn't even notice it. I used to run exclusively in the Kinvara's, but wanted to try something new. Glad I did, these are one of my new favorite running shoes, plus the all yellow color looks pretty ridonkulous. I'll be training for my next half-marathon in these for sure, I tip my hat to the Skecher's design team, these have so much going for them. If you're like me you read reviews to see what other people have to say, and I'll put in my 2 cents that these shoes are awesome, get them you won't regret it.

Unfortunately I would not recommend this product. The insoles of the shoes came out within a week of wearing them. I ended up just taking them out and wearing the shoes without them to avoid having to put them back in every time I took the shoes off. Also if these shoes get wet the color will run onto your socks. I have the orange pair and it turned my socks pink. I live in WI so getting your shoes wet in March is unavoidable. If you're a runner I wouldn't run if it's raining outside. All in all, with being as excited as I was to get these shoes, I am truly disappointed in the quality of them. Not sure I would purchase this brand ever again. I say not sure because I do like the way they look.

No need to brake it in. Amazingly comfortable. I am in the US Army and I run almost everyday. Prior to this shoe, I had pain in my heel and shins. I tried orthopedics insert and it wasn't until I changed to Skechers go run 2 that the pain went away. I have recommended this shoe to my co-workers and almost all of them have changed. They are all extremely happy with the shoe. Never going back to any other shoe.

My parents bought me a pair of the standard GoRun shoes on their holiday to America about a year ago....dirt cheap! I was a bit hesitant to wear them due to their fluoro yellow colour, but these colours are the rage now and I have worn the soles almost all the way down to their bare bones on all sorts of road conditions. I have tried the Nike Air's and didn't rate them but these shoes with their mid-strike sole are perfect for light jogs, to long distant runs and even sprints. They do take about a month of light-medium jogs to wear them in, as well as your calves but by the end of the month, the shock to your joints is minimal compared to the old heel-toe style of running. I have run further than I have ever before wearing these shoes and almost hit sub-9mins for a 2.5km run. My parents have again bought me another pair of GoRun 2 shoes (in orange this time) and waiting for them in the mail as i write. They are so light, comfortable and multi-purpose and I'm looking forward to what the upgraded version has to offer. They can handle the worn dirt trails as well. Sketchers are my new shoe.

These feel lighter than air while walking - I don't run so I can't tell you how they are for running. I have flat feet so I can't tell you about arch support. But I can say they are extremely comfortable, breathe because of the material, and absorb impact. I've used them on a leg press and they feel great - they don't slip on the machines. They do feel like they are cut a bit short- I didn't get a bigger size than normal because of the fabric and stretch of the shoe, but if I were to wear them outside of the gym I'd probably go up a half size to avoid a crunch by the end of the day with normal foot swelling.
I wouldn't wear the color combo outside of the gym.

          • Q:

I currently use the Go Run shoe. I've had left heel pain for almost 10 years, with no medical problems, and solutions that only relieve 80%. Last year's Go Run shoe got my foot to 100%! I'm now trying out the Go Run 2. The salesman said that the arch lump was smaller. My wife has the Go Run Ride 2 shoe. I notice that the arch area on the bottom of the Go Run Ride 2 shoe has a tremendous amount more of the harder cushions/supports than the Go Run/Go Run 2 shoe does. Is the Go Run 2 shoe the better one for arch support, and how? Last year when I tried them on, I could obviously feel the Go Run arch support but couldn't feel anything with the Go Run Ride, and now don't feel anything with either of the 2's. Thanks, Chris

              A:

One of the main critique of the original Skechers GOrun shoe was of the pronounced arch support, so the Skechers GOrun 2 kept a similar level of support, but smoothed out the arch bump a bit. Due to the midfoot strike design, the shoes should still give very good arch support, it may not feel as pronounced, but it should be there. The Skechers GOrun ride 2 will feel more cushioned but still should include the arch support as well.

          • Q:

What is the difference between the GOrun ride 2 and the GOrun 2 and what makes them different from the original GOrun shoes?
            Asked on 8/24/2013 by Em

            1 answer

            • CUSTOMER CARE

              A:

The Skechers GOrun 2 is the newer version of the Skechers GOrun. The Skechers GOrun ride 2 is the newer version of the Skechers GOrun ride. The main difference between the Skechers GOrun 2 and the Skechers GOrun ride 2 is that the GOrun ride model has a more cushioned midsole. The main difference between the original Skechers GOrun shoe and the second generation Skechers GOrun 2 shoe is that the GOrun 2 smooths out the midfoot arch support a little, has an improved upper with 4-way stretch mesh, and has a removable insole for a custom fit.

I wear down the outer edge along the heel rather quickly. How do these hold up?

            1 answer

            • CUSTOMER CARE

              A:

That sounds like a symptom of pronating, where you foot tends to rotate outward when you run. The Skechers GOrun 2 is designed to promote a midfoot strike when you run, so that means that not only is the heel not the primary strike in your gait, but many runners find a more natural gait, with less pronation.

          • Q:

I am a distance runner that focuses on half marathons and trains about 30 miles per week. I have two pairs of trainers that I rotate on training days and a lightweight racer for race days. I have been thinking of trying the "GoRun Ride 2" as my trainers and the lighter "GoRun 2" as my racer. Does this combination make sense or is there too much of a difference between the two that it could cause issues? Thanks much!

              A:

Actually that sounds like a perfect way to do it. I have heard from several runners who train in the Skechers GOrun ride 2 for its cushioning, and then run races in the Skechers GOrun 2 or the GOrun Meb Speed shoes (the Meb shoe has a stability plate for longer distances, full marathons and above).

              A:

I'd advise you order the same size in the Skechers GObionic as you wear in the Skechers GOrun 2, there should not be a difference in the sizing, but there will be a difference in the way the feel, the Skechers GObionic will be more of a barefoot-running effect. The 53515 Skechers GObionic and 53516 GObionic - Prana are the same shoe, just with different colors. The Skechers GObionic Ride is a somewhat different shoe, though, as it has a bit more cushioning in the midsole while still providing a barefoot-running feel.

If it's a particular spot, you may want to see if you can 'sand' down what's rubbing your foot, it might be an errant stitch or hot spot inside the shoe, though the Skechers GOrun 2 are designed to have very little in the way of stitching points in the interior. There are tapes or roll-ons you can use to help ease any rubbing you are getting as well.

The Skechers GOrun 2 can be machine washed to clean them - you may want to remove the insoles first and hand wash those separately so they keep their shape. I recommend washing on the gentle cycle, putting both shoes in a laundry bag or pillowcase, and air drying only.
