I am a trail runner. A seasoned and experienced trail runner. I've been looking forward to the 2nd version of the Ultra as I really enjoyed the 1st generation. The cusion on the shoe is excellent, fits like a glove and is light as a feather. I wish you would broaden the sole especially in the rearfoot for stability. On very technical or side hill angles you have a tendency to roll out or come off the outside of the shoe. It would be an easy fix and I thought you would have fixed that problem with the 2nd generation. I will still run in the shoe but it would be perfect if you could make it a little more stable for techy stuff. i will be wearing it again at Hardrock 100 this summer despite the shortcomings.

I walk a little over 4 miles a day and purchased this shoe on 6/12. Two weeks of walking and tread is worn out on ball of both feet and heel area. Most comfortable shoe I've worn but durability is in question. Try Sports tells me this was a manufacturer problem and will order another pair. I will see when I get new pair if this was a one off manufacturer problem.

Comments about Skechers GOrun Ultra 2:
Need solid colors like black, navy, etc.
i use it regularly for sports like badminton cricket and racquetball...it comfortable enough for all...good cushioning
Comments about Skechers GOrun Ultra 2:
I got the original GoRun Ultra in March and quickly fell in love. I ran with it for month's before I finally decided that I needed a new pair. This shoe has a lot more cushioning, and still maintains everything that I love about the shoe. It handles trails and grips rocks, roots and slippery sections fantastically. I just ran my first 50 mile race on very wet trails in a heavy rain. These shoes do a great job of draining water too.
Very comfortable and lightweight. No longer have back pains from previous shoes
I have a hard time with shoes fitting correctly. These are as close to perfect as I have ever had.

Q:Is the Go Ultra II due for an update soon? Great shoe...I have worn it in several Ultra's up to 100k and even in the recent Leadville 100!(I'm getting your name out there in an arena dominated by Hoka and Altra.) My issue is that they are really ugly compared to the major brand names. Any work going on in that area? You have made a better looking shoe with the Ultra road...just watch that weight as it is one of your main selling points. I initially bought these as a price point. Now I am actually considering whether to buy the Ultra road vs. the Hoka Clifton regardless of price. Bought major brands at 150 that I like less than yours. Thanks and keep up the good work!
A:Thank you for the kind words, and we're very happy to hear you're enjoying the Skechers GOrun Ultra shoes. The Skechers GOrun Ultra Road is the more road-ready version, but there is a more trail oriented version, the Skechers GOtrail Ultra 3, coming later in the year. That shoe will feature a dedicated rubber trail outsole and the same draining design as the Ultra Road shoe.
Q:I understand that the Ultra 2's are more of a terrain type running shoe however, in the product description it states that "it is suitable for all terrain". I' m a seasoned road runner who runs approximately 30 to 35 miles per week. Can be shoe perform equally as well for long distance road runs?
A:The Skechers GOrun Ultra 2 are ideal for both terrain and smooth surfaces, especially if you like a well cushioned ride. However, you may also want to take a look at the new Skechers GOrun Ultra Road, which takes the well cushioned design of the Ultra and adds a more road-suitable outsole design. There is one color in stock now, with more coming very soon.
Q:Does this shoe have the Goga mat insole?
A:No, the Skechers GOrun Ultra 2 has an insole unique to this shoe that is more suitable for long distance running.
Q:I want to get a great running/walking shoe with excellent cushion but I have a wide foot. Are there any with such specs?
A:If you normally wear a 3E wide width, I could suggest the Synergy - Power Switch or Flex Advantage shoes, both of which come in a 3E wide. If you normally only need a bit more width, an E width, you may want to check out the men's Relaxed Fit Sport shoes.
Q:can i use for walking
A:Yes, the Skechers GOrun Ultra 2 is ideal for cross country running, but also very good for walking and trail hiking.
Q:How many miles can i run on road and how many on trail running?
A:From what we have heard from customers regarding the longevity of the Skechers GOrun Ultra, they were very happy with the Resamax outsole's durability and the robust tread for all terrain running. There have been many customers who reported their Ultras were still going strong after hundreds of miles, and many months of sustained use.
Q:I purchased two pair of Skecher Go Run 2 Ultra shoes, size 8.5, at the store in San Marcos TX while on a trip. I need to exchange them for size 9.0. Where can I exchange the shoes for a larger size. I live in Little Rock AR.
A:It does not appear that there is a Skechers Retail store located near Little Rock currently. The closest store appears to be in Branson, MO.
Q:can I find this shoe in one of the San Antonio, TX. stores. If so, which store and are they for the same price ($90)??
A:I would recommend trying the Rivercenter store first, as that is most likely to carry the Ultra 2. Their number is 210-226-2300 if you want to check if they have them in your preferred color and size. The price should be the same.
Q:I asked these 2 questions and received a prompt answer (attached) I failed to ask what the main difference is between the GoRun Ultra 2 and the GoRun Strada? I'm looking for a neutral shoe, with cushioning and very little guidance (stability). I'm not familiar with the term "passive stability." The shoe also has to have a fairly wide toe box. I like these 2, but if there are others to consider, I'm open to suggestion. Thanks. My earlier questions and response from SKECHERS:"
A:The Skechers GOrun Strada and the Skechers GOrun Ultra 2 are both well cushioned running shoes, considered to be neutral and both promote a midfoot strike. The Ultra 2 is more of an off road ultra marathon running design, with a good traction outsole and lightweight upper. The Strada model adds a bit more stability in the midfoot and the outsole, but it's still a fairly neutral design. I can also recommend the Skechers GOrun Ride 4, it has a bit less cushioning than the other models, but it's still well padded, and nicely lightweight.
Q:I received a Skechers gift certificate last Christmas. I have not been able to find shoes I like in the local Skecher's store, can I use it to purchase shoes via your website?
A:It is possible that you could use it online, if the gift certificate has an online code on the back. If it does not, you could inquire at your local store to see if they can get you the shoes you want off the website, most stores are now able to do that.
