I was skeptical at first. Only ran 2.5 miles on the treadmill and started to get small blister on the top of my toe (My first goal in a race is always get to the start without injury!). The toe box felt smaller than my usual running shoes but otherwise they felt great. I wore them again on my next couple of treadmill runs and they did fine. Since then, I've logged another 12 miles or so without any trouble at all even on hills. They are now ready to alternate regularly with my other favorite pair of running shoes for 20-40 miles/week. They are very lightweight with thin uppers but seem to have adequate support. Probably best for runners under 150 pounds (I'm only 140). Overall, I think they are fine.

I use this shoe for walking. It feels great and is flexible and comfortable. It's the best shoe I've worn which makes the fact that the sole has worn down so quickly a huge disappointment. I can no longer wear them with a hole through to the inner sole. The top is in great condition still.

        Comments about Skechers GOrun 4 - 2016:

I've been training for a half marathon in these shoes. They are very comfortable and lightweight. My only complaint is that the shoes seems half a size too large, which probably attributed to blisters on my pinky toes during the long runs. I haven't had any similar issues with my Saucony shoes, so I'm assuming it is due to the slightly larger fit.

              Hello,
I do rather endurance and long distances (15-20 km for training), and I would like to run a marathon. What is the best shoe, gorun 4 or gorun ride 5 ?
              Thank you !

                A:

The main difference between the Skechers GOrun 4 shoes and the GOrun Ride 5 shoes is the amount of cushioning in the midsole. Most runners prefer a lower profile, lighter weight for marathon running, so that would be the GOrun 4.

What are the major differences between this shoe and the Meb Strada 2? On the surface they seem fairly comparable.

The Skechers GOmeb Strada 2 shoe is more stabilized for motion control, with a more structured midsole and outsole design. It's a similar look to the Skechers GOrun 4 model, but a more substantial and structured feel.

Any plans to offer this shoe in a legitimate extra wide fit 4E? These shoes run narrow and the previous EWW GoWalk/GOrun offerings haven't been wide enough or comparable to the Afterburn Memory Foam EWW shoes.

The Skechers GOrun 4 - 2016 does still have the Quick-Fit Portal on the heel of the shoe, it's a feature designed for easy pull-on wear. Several other Skechers GOrun shoes do not feature the portal if that is an annoyance.

                A:

The Skechers GOrun 4 are not necessarily a true trail running shoe, but they are nicely minimal with some stability in the midsole, and we have heard from customers who take them on moderate offroad runs. For a more substantial true trail shoe I would recommend the Skechers GOtrail Ultra 3.

It's a 4mm heel drop height as they come, and if you add the optional included insoles, that increases to 8mm heel drop.

The Skechers GOrun 2016 is the most neutral and minimal of the Skechers GOrun shoes, it has a small amount of stability in the midfoot but is a neutral run. The GOrun Ride is a bit more cushioned, but still fairly minimal, not too structural.

The Skechers GOrun 4 - 2016 edition keeps the same successful platform of the GOrun 4, but streamlines and modifies the upper for an even lighter and more seamless feel. It has an internal stabilizer that provides improved fit and lateral stability as well.
