Toe box is too narrow. Squeezes pinky toe. Toe cap is set up in such a way that it catches the pinky toe when you step. It's the exact same problem their Burst shoes have.

The bands of material sewn to the side are too tight. They dig into the foot. Feels like a string tied around the foot. Especially behind the big toe. There is another version of the gorun400 without the bands, style 54351. Why didn't they make that one in extra wide?

The arch length is too long. My foot feels like it's falling off the sole, even though the length is okay. They need to bring the inside of the sole back further before curving it inwards. In fact this problem occurs in a lot of Skechers shoes.

The sole material seems to wear kind of fast. All I do is walk in them. A runner would tear these up pretty quick.

The mesh that the upper is made of runs two different directions on each shoe. They should be symmetrical, I would think.

The color choices for extra wide are bland and limited. It's always something like black/white (boring, but okay) or gray/navy (ugly). They never give us any of those other exciting stylish colors like red or really anything other than black or gray. Skechers always makes ugly color combos for wide shoes. I could come up with better colors and patterns.

Overall I would say pass these up if you don't have narrow feet. Normal and wide width feet will not be comfortable in these shoes.

The Skechers GOrun 400 is ideally suited for training and interval runs, treadmill running and other similar activities. I'd recommend the GOrun 5 and more specialized shoes for longer distance running.

The Skechers GOrun 400 are more intended as a training shoe or treadmill-style running shoe. There are additional new running shoes coming very soon to Skechers.com.

What's the difference between the go run 400 and the go run 4?

              • Staff Reviewer

                A:

The Skechers GOrun 400 is a different type of shoe with different materials than the Skechers GOrun 4 model. The GOrun 400 has 5Gen cushioning in the midsole and the new Goga Run insole. It's a lighter weight shoe with a bit less structure than the more high-mileage GOrun 4 shoe. It's more ideally used for shorter distance runs and training runs, while the GOrun 4 is suitable for all that plus longer distance runs.

The Goga Run insole is a version of the popular Goga Mat insole that is optimized for running - it has a bit more springiness to it, which is more ideally suited for running.

I'd put the comfort level on a par with the Skechers GOrun Ride shoes, they are meant for short and middle distances, recreational or training runs mainly. The Skechers GOrun Ride would still be better for a longer run, I believe.

The Skechers GOrun 400 shoes should be roomy at the toe and forefoot in a medium width. If you normally wear a 2E width, you may be most comfortable in a Wide Fit men's shoe on Skechers.com.
