This is my 4th pair in 4 generations of the GoRun Ultra; I'm curious to see if the new material on the bottom of this "Road" versions lasts longer than prior versions. I like the cushion and the shape of the insole promotes my stride.

I have been a fan of previous Skechers Performance running shoes and specifically the predecessor of this shoe, the Go Run Ultra Road. For this new model, the upper was a poor design. With the trend in the performance running shoe industry toward lighter, breathable upper materials, the upper on this new Go Run Ultra Road 2 felt goofy. I would prefer something more like the Skechers Go Run 5 with a more snug fitting upper that has the stretchiness to flex during use. I had planned to use the new Go Run Ultra Road 2 for marathon training and race day but I could not get past 10 miles with the uncomfortable behavior of the upper. PS. from a quality control perspective, I noticed that the design on the rear of the shoe was a bit different between left and right shoe.

I would recommend these shoes for the mid foot striker. Just completed a marathon with no problems. They are light, yet have good cushioning.
These are the most comfortable shoe I have ever trained in ! Can't wait to run in them everyday
I love these shoes. They are lighter than my Gorun Trails. I have high arches, am 61 years old and take care to put good shoes on my feet when I run. These are the best I have found.

Q:Is the Ultra Road shoe being discontinued? I heard that from a store employee. I love the shoe. If true, what will replace it?
A:From what I can see, the Skechers GOrun Ultra maximum cushioning platforms will get a redesign for Fall 18, the new model is called the Maxroad 3 Ultra, and the trail version the Maxtrail 5 Ultra. The new models should continue the highly cushioned design of the Ultra Road with an even lighter and more capable shoe.
Q:I run with the skechers gotrail ultra 4 size 10.5 ....what size should i get from the gorun ultra road 2 ?
A:I would advise you to try the same size, as they are based on the same design.
Q:I see the Ultra Trail model of this shoe is coming out in 2018. The GoRun Maxtrail Ultra 5, it looks great in the photos I have seen. Will it be as wide in the forefoot as The Ultra Road 2 fits my foot perfectly like the Skecheres GoTrail Ultra 3 does, will the Maxtrail Ultra 5 remain as wide in the forefoot area?
A:From what I have seen of the upcoming shoes, there should be a similar fit and feel as the previous Ultra shoes but a lighter weight midsole with improved cushioning.
Q:I wear a 9.5 size street shoe and have always sized up 1/2 size to 10 on my running shoes, i.e., Asics. Do I need to order a size 10 Sketchers as well? What size should I order, 9.5 or 10? Thank you. Bob Dunlap
A:If you normally wear a 10 in a running shoe, you may want to try that same size in a Skechers running shoe.
Q:Why is the Ultra Road 2 not on the rocker platform? Last years model was and so was my all time favorite shoe, the GoTrail Ultra 3. This years trail model, the GoTrail Ultra 4 is on the rocker platform. I do not like that shoe at all, and was considering buying the road shoe. Why would they continue with the rocker platform in the road shoe too?
A:The Skechers GOrun Ultra Road 2 is built along the lines of the Ultra Road 1, which featured all of the cushioning midsole of the Ultra Trail shoe but a more road-ready sole with a flatter design suitable for running on roads, sidewalks, tracks and other smooth surfaces. That is less of the rocker design of the trail model, but still has that thick sole and well padded arch that gives a rocker-inspired feel and encourages a midfoot strike.
Q:Does the Ultra 2 fit the same as the Go Run Ride 6?
A:Yes, the two designs should have the same type of fit for most.
Q:I can't find a Skechers store that stocks these. I would like to try them on, before I buy them. If I order them and they aren't what I am looking for or the size needs to be changed, can I return them? I don't want to be stuck with shoes that I can't use.
A:Yes, these can be returned (in unworn-looking condition please) - you can return for free either by printing a return form from the website, or by returning to any Skechers Retail store.
Q:Is this shoe the same size as the Go Trail Ultra 3 and 4 in the forefoot area? In other words, can the same insole be used in both shoes? Or is it narrower?
A:The Skechers GOrun Ultra Road 2 should be very similar in design and insole size to the Skechers GOtrail Ultra model, as they both share the Ultra construction.
