I've been a fan of the original Shape Ups ever since they came out. Prior to buying them I would spend over an hour shopping for shoes because I have flat feet and scoliosis but there were no shoes with moderate arch support that helped my back at the same time.

Finally I found the original Shape Ups and they were so comfortable, especially when having to work at a factory for 8-12 hours. I didn't have to buy an additional insole which was great! I actually convinced a few co-workers to start wearing these and they loved them!

The whole problem was that Skechers advertised these as a toning shoe. These are perfect for people with feet and back problems and should have never been taken off the shelves.

Thankfully Skechers brought these back without all of the advertising that they're great for butt toning. People with feet and back problems don't care about that, they only want comfortable shoes and these are the most comfortable shoes that I have ever worn! These new 2.0 are no exception!

Thank you Skechers!

I tried three pairs of navy blue shape ups and all three left inside heel pad rolled inward with a sinking feeling, a bad pronation. I tried a white pair and did not experience the same problem.
I bought the Go Run Ultra R and will seek other walking shoes. A shame because I have preferred Sketchers for years. Thank you for allowing me to share this. I hope the quality control improves for this shoe.

Comments about Shape-ups 2.0 XT - Comfort Walker:

These shoes are used by a handicapped man with limited flexibility in one ankle. The rocker bottom shoe assists in him being able to walk better and with a less noticeable limp. Happy to see them back on the market. We know several people with limited mobility that use this type of shoe for better walking.

Comments about Shape-ups 2.0 XT - Comfort Walker:

I use the Shape-ups as walking shoe and as a day to day casual wear shoe. My only negative for the current 2.0 version is that the fit is not as good as the original Shape-ups. Also, the size seems to be slightly shorter in length than a true size.

Will the shape up work be available with a safety toe? If so, when please? I loved the old ones and probably 40 people in my factory wore and loved them, but we must have a safety toe.

It does not appear that these Shape-ups 2 models are going to come in a wide width. The men's Shape-ups Liv - Brawny is the only model that currently comes in a Wide Fit version.

            Q:

I owned 2 pair of the original men's Shape-Ups size 10 D(M) that fit perfectly. I purchased 2 pair of the newer generation of Shape-Ups in size 10 D(M) but the newer ones pinch my toes too much (quite painful). I've been unable to locate Men's Shape-Ups in size 10 Extra-Wide (EW). Do you know where I can find some? (By the way, my feet haven't changed--I still have all four pair of shape-ups, the old ones still fit good, but the new ones pinch my toes even if I don't lace them and I've had them long enough to stretch out as much as they ever will). Thanks.

Currently the new Shape-ups 2.0 models are not made in a wide width, though there are wides in selected styles expected to be released this year. I can recommend giving these a try in a half size bigger, the 10.5, which should help to alleviate the toe room issue.

Currently I don't see a date for the wide widths to come into stock - I will continue to push the wides in these though. Meantime you may want to try something comfortable in a wide width, like the men's Skechers GOwalk 3.

I love the shape-ups! I have server drop foot and rocker bottom shoes are the only kind of shoes I can wear. I'm so glad you guys brought them back. However I can only wear extended sizes in wide. Any information or if wide width in a size 15 in any shape-up may ever be made available would be appreciated.

It looks like the wide widths in the men's Shape-ups 2.0 models should be coming later in the year, and it looks like these are made in sizes up to a 14 EEE, which may also fit a 15 wide.

I read a review that included the following comment: "they have a great cut-out in the back which allows me to walk without having the shoe irritate my [achilles] surgery scar." I too have an achilles injury, that's why I'm here shopping, but do not understand what the commenter means by "cutout in the back" of the shoe. Would you please explain this cutout to me and how it works. Thank you in advance for your help.

You may be able to see in the photos that the heel collar of the Shape-ups 2.0 is designed with a curve in the center to better accommodate the Achilles tendon while walking - it's not super noticeable in the photos, but it's definitely something that you feel when you walk in the Shape-ups.
