I own both the black and brown pairs. Hey, where did the black one's go on this site?? Anyways, I am very happy with my purchase. These boots are great because they look really cool, they zip on and off in a flash, and are as comfortable as gym shoes. I stomped around is deep snow today and my feet stayed dry. I cannot tell how durable they will be, my guess is that if you wear them very frequently they might last a couple of years. I own some Dr. Martens and these Sketchers are not built as tough but they cost about half as much so it all evens out. You won't regret buying these boots. I hope they didn't discontinue the black ones.

I love the look of the shoe, the leather used and the comfortable feel of them on my feet, but the soles wore thru so quickly. They are not solid boot soles. I like the softish rubber of the soles as they provide a comfort for all day use, but they wear through too quickly as they are hollow soles. As for the Bottom line, I bought them for [$] at the sketchers store as part of a promotion and I would buy them again. Thats why I am here now, but seeing them list for [$]

It doesn't currently look like the Cinder - Twist boot is coming back into stock, but it's a perennial favorite, so it may well be back this year. I also recommend the Sergeants - Juma and Briggs - Mora boots.

              • CUSTOMER CARE

                A:

The Cinder is a shorter boot, so it breathes pretty well for riding. A lot of customers have given it good reviews as a motorcycle boot.

                A:

The Cinder - Twist boot does come in half sizes. It currently is sold out in many sizes, but there should be more of these boots coming around mid to late summer for boot season.

            • Q:

Are shoe sizes different in boots? I own a pair of Skechers, they are just regular casual shoes, but I want to buy these boots. Would the size stay the same, or does it change? There are no Skechers stores around here, so trying these on first isnt really an option.

              • CUSTOMER CARE

                A:

You should wear your same size in a casual shoe or dress shoe in the Twist boots. You may want to check out the customer reviews to see how they fit other people who wear them.

Answered on 6/13/2011 by Tim the Shoe Guy from SKECHERS
              • A:

The size will not really change just the fit. They do need to be broken in a bit but after a few days of use specially if you ride a motorcycle, you will not buy any other boot.

The Twist boot has a good traction sole, but it is not a technical Slip Resistant rated sole if you need that for work.

hi, do these boots go thru the metal detector at the airport without setting off the alarm. I am a pilot and have been wearing my last pair if sketchers black 1/2 boots for 8 years. they are shot and I need a new pair but really want the kind that doesn't set off the alarm again. Taking your shoes off is a hassle. thanks

                A:

Based on the metal buckles, I would imagine that the Twist boot may set off a metal detector. For a metal-less boot I would recommend the Salutary - Prevailing, style 62407.

The Cinder-Twist boot is not waterproof as it comes, but you can give them a spray treatment with a rain and stain spray protectant to make them waterproof.

I've had the boots for over a year and even bought a second pair. They are not water proof but do okay keeping my feet dry when riding my motorcycle in the rain. If you don't submerge them, you should be fine.
