I have owned many pairs of Skechers and will most likely own more in the future, however, these will not be a repeat purchase. Fresh out of the box, first time ever trying them on, the leather strap on one boot pulled off. About two weeks later, the other boot did the same thing. After about 2 months of moderate use, the leather started splitting and falling off around the toes. In less than six months, wearing these boots 2-3 a week, they completely fell apart. These are nowhere close to the quality of product I had been used to receiving from Skechers.

    Q:

Do you have this with buffalo/cow leather? if so, is the quality remain same?

      A:

This boot is made from cow derived leather. The leather has an oiled matte finish, but it is still cow-derived.

    Q:

Are these boot slip resistant. For my work at Publix .As Slip res. are approved.

      A:

The Blaine - Orsen boot has a good rubber traction outsole, but it is not a technically tested and rated 'slip resistant' sole if your workplace requires it. There are several very good slip resistant boots and shoes in the Skechers Work shoe category. Better yet, I think that Publix is part of the Skechers Direct program, where you can order the safety shoes at a discount off a special website. You should be able to find out the information from your HR department.

    Q:

Does the Blain- Orson boot come in a wide or extra wide ?
Asked on 9/9/2013 by JO from Hoover, AL

    1 answer

    • CUSTOMER CARE

      A:

Currently the Blaine - Orsen boot comes in a medium width only. The slip on design of the boot may allow for a somewhat more roomy fit. The Verdict, Mariners and Pilot boots all come in a wide width.

    Q:

What's the best way to repair the pull loop on the back of the boot if it tears loose?
Asked on 8/21/2012 by Sean from Memphis, TN

    1 answer

    • CUSTOMER CARE

      A:

The pull loop on the rear panel of the Orsen boot is sewn into place, so I'd see if a shoe repair shop can repair the sewing. If the leather itself is broken or split, you may want to see if the shoe repair shop can add on a new pull-on loop.

  • Blaine - Orsen

    Q:

What is the best way to keep these boots looking nice? A brush? A damp rag? I just bought them and love them - but I want to make sure I take care to keep them looking good. Any advice?
    Asked on 5/24/2012 by Anonymous

    1 answer

    • CUSTOMER CARE

      A:

I would recommend you apply a leather-specific 'rain and stain' protectant spray to the boots, which will help to keep water and dirt from affecting the leather. I would also recommend a leather lotion moisturizing treatment every couple of months to keep the natural oils in the leather. A soft cloth should be fine with both of these treatments.

  • Q:

I have bought a Blaine Orsen. Will they help in protecting me from a little snow and rain, though I know that they are not water proof.
    Asked on 11/26/2011 by Anonymous

    1 answer

    • CUSTOMER CARE

      A:

I'd recommend getting some leather waterproofing spray and applying it as directed to your Orsen boots. That should help keep them safe from moderate rain and light snow.

  • Q:

How do these boots cope with cold conditions? I am looking for boots that I can also wear in winter, and my concern is whether they will be warm enough.
    Asked on 9/22/2011 by Anonymous

    1 answer

    • CUSTOMER CARE

      A:

These boots would be fine to wear in most conditions, especially if you waterproof the leather uppers. They are not insulated for cold, nor are they waterproof as they come. I could recommend the similar style Extradite that does have a shearling-style insulated lining, or the Earth Pounder - Merino boot that is more suitable for cold weather.

  • Blaine - Orsen

    Q:

Do these shoes have any metal in them? I am always on the look out for airport friendly shoes that will not set off the metal detectors.
Asked on 8/14/2011 by Mike from Charlotte, NC

    1 answer

    • CUSTOMER CARE

      A:

The Orsen boot should not have any metal content in it, and is very easy to slip off in case you need to do that.
