I loved this shoe. This is by far the best work shoe I've come across. I have very wide feet that swell after a long day, so I bought wide shoes .5 size bigger so that I could put inserts in for arch support. I usually have an issue with arch support no matter the shoe. I work in a kitchen and all over a hospital. I'm on hard floors all day and I need sure footing because I'm constantly lifting heavy things, and pushing/pulling carts. I've always felt steady on my feet while working in these shoes. They lasted almost an entire year before the side seam busted out of my right shoe. Others who have tried this shoe said that's where theirs finally tore apart too. I've gone through lots of shoes, and these have been the most comfortable and lasted the longest by far.

I stand on my feet for 7 hours a day. I need to have the comfort. I buy 4 pair per year and the other two pair were worn out. I wore the new shoes and my feet are aching daily. They feel like they were made differently.
I will still come back to sketcher. I have to have slip resistant and we cannot have the new kind. Hopefully more choices in the future. I actually wear 10 1/2 but you dont have that in 10 1/2 so I do 11 wide.

These shoes are readily available on skechers.com, so you can purchase there. If you wish to purchase in a store I would recommend a Skechers Retail store, there is one in Huntley Outlets.

You may want to see if there is a website based in Australia that sells this particular shoe. Currently Skechers.com ships to USA, though many customers based in Australia make use of freight forwarding services to get orders sent to them.

The Soft Stride - Softie is a favorite work shoe design for its well padded midsole and heel. For even more support and comfort, though, I would also recommend looking at the Shape-ups work shoes, especially the Liv models.

Is this shoe a softer leather than the premiums? The premiums I find have stiff leather and takes a while to get them soft.

            A:

The Soft Stride - Softie is the work slip resistant version of the Energy sneaker - the leather quality should be durable yet flexible - it may take a bit of breaking in for these as they are a solid leather shoe suitable for a work environment.

The Soft Stride has very good shock absorption and support. You may also want to look at shoes in the Relaxed Fit collection - both for work and regular - as well as shoes in the GOwalk 2 collection.

If you normally wear a size 8 in a similar sneaker type design, you would want to go with that size first.

I buy these all the time, and I wear an 8 and that was the size I bought and it fits to the size.
