Safety toe shoes are not the top of my list for work shoes, but the job requires them. Since I've been a big fan of Skechers work shoes, I thought the safety toe shoes would be a sure bet. I was wrong. They are CUTE!! But, that's all they are. They are almost impossible to walk in and standing for any length of time is like standing on a molded rock...however the rock was molded to someone else's feet! I'm trying special (expensive) insoles to make them more comfortable but I'm not optimistic. Why didn't I return them, you say? I'm thinking they're built to last which makes them hard to "break in". I also need to have them now.I haven't given up. I will find a way to make them more comfortable. I'm just disappointed. Then again nobody bats a thousand.

I got these shoes since I work in a warehouse and I'm lucky if my other shoes last 6 months. Standing on my feet for 8 hours plus every day, they are comfortable still at the end of the day. I'm not having as much back pain and leg pain as before. So far, they are the best work shoes yet!!!!

Hello, Would this safety boot comply with Australian Safety Standards?

            • Staff Reviewer

              A:

The boots are tested using ASTM standards, which are the USA standards. You should be able to look up how these tests compare to Australia safety standards - we have heard from customers that these are comparable, but you should verify for your workplace needs.

The D'Lites Tottle shoe should weigh about 14 to 18 oz. per shoe due to the safety toe. They should run true to size.

What does ASTM F2412-11/2413 mean? Are these shoes rated ASTM F2413-11?

              A:

F2412/2413 refers to the tests and results for safety footwear, and this is the 2011 standards. The shoes are rated 2413-11, it's the same thing.

            Q:

What exactly is the difference between a 9.5 medium and a 9.5 wide width? My D'Lites I have now do not have a composite toe and are a medium (I believe). After reading after others having issues with the toe rubbing on the composite material, I am wondering if I should get a wide width? Is the width basically in the toe or the whole shoe? Thanks!!!
Asked on 8/22/2014 by tizzie from Chicago, IL

            1 answer

            • Staff Reviewer

              A:

The composite safety toe is only a little bit wider in a wide width - if you have concerns about your toes rubbing in a composite toe shoe, you may want to order a wide width and a half size larger, or you could order a steel or aluminum alloy toe shoe instead - the Composite toe design takes up some space.

              A:

The D'Lites Tottle work shoe has a composite safety toe - that's a non-steel protective toe made from layered ceramic material. It has the advantage of being nonmetallic yet it is as protective as a steel toe.

The Tottle work shoe is rated ASTM F2412-2011, which is the most updated safety testing. It surpasses the ANSI z-41 1993 standards, but they aren't rated with the older statistics.
