I walked around the shoe store for a half hour and was sure the fit was correct. However once I wore them to work for a full day my toes were in agony as if the toe area had shrunk. Even though I purchased the double wide size I don't think the toe cup is proportionate to the width. I've been wearing them for two weeks now and I guess my toes are conforming to the shoe because the pain isn't as bad as it was when they were brand new. However I have a complaint on the construction of the shoe, namely where the leather upper meets the synthetic toe bumper cover. (the rubber toe cover) The leather is pulling out from under the rubber and what appears to be stitching is actually thread attaching the leather to an under layer. The stitching is nice but it has no attachment to the toe guard, leaving a big gap that I can actually see the toe safety cup and allows water to enter the shoe. Not a good thing!

Comments about Work Relaxed Fit: Soft Stride - Constructor II Comp Toe:

This Skechers work shoe is one I have used since finding them a number of years ago. They were steel-toed safety shoes originally and they served me well while building and taking care of our home. The new "composite-toe" is so much lighter than the steel toed shoe which is a plus when being on your feet working all day. They are very comfortable and tough too.

Some selected Skechers Retail stores - usually the larger stores - do carry Skechers Work shoes. Most smaller-type stores will not carry Work models though.

                    Q:

Is this shoe true to size? I typically wear a 10.5 in a regular shoe. Is a Skecher size on par with what it is labeled as? I can't find these locally or I'd try them on. Have to buy online.

                      A:

The Soft Stride - Constructor II should run true to size for most. Some customers do like to order these a half size bigger, to allow for a bit more room due to the Comp Toe front and to allow for thicker work socks.

The Constructor model should be nicely comfortable, protective and durable for your needs. The Dunmor Comp Toe shoes are also very good with a little bit more comfort due to the Gel Infused Memory Foam insoles.

                      A:

This particular safety toe work shoe model has a composite protective toe - that is layers of hardened ceramic and mesh material rather than a steel or metal safety toe. Many workers prefer the composite type of safety toe as most are nonmetallic. Similar work shoes with steel toes include the Blais ST or Blue Ridge ST models.
