(Definition of PHENOMENAL: Exceedingly or unbelievably great.); and that is exactly what the Skechers Resistance Runner (SRR) are.

I've tried almost every brand of shoe out there which is built for running and none of them and I mean none of them match to the technology of the SRR from Skechers. You won't regret the purchase of the SRR it's worth every dime! Remember one thing in life, you can't put a price on health; I've bought the SRR's for purely exercising with them specifically running. I can't stress enough on how great these shoes's are and now I'm going to stop blabbing on. (27 years of age)

      the changing of sneaker material

I bought a pair of the (men's) Sketchers SRR Pro resistance last summer (July 11) and was the most amazing sneaker ever purchased, and then when i went back to purchase another pair of the exact style/model in March 2012 and it seemed to have a completely different feel with less support. I tried running in them on 3 different occasions with both my back and legs hurting which i never experienced on the previous pair. I was told they are now using different material in the sneaker cause of a contract issue with one of their partners hence for the big price reduction from last year. Has anyone experienced the same thing?

The metallic green midsole and metallic overlays on the Pro Resistance do reflect a bit, and they are certainly visible.

                  A:

From what I have heard, it's actually much better for your health to run with a midfoot strike, and the Pro Resistance as well as other SKECHERS Fitness running shoes are designed to help you run this way. I recommend you give them a try, or read reviews to see how they have helped other runners.

                  A:

Yes, as I recall the Resistor Run was more of a solid leather upper. The Pro Resistance have a good amount of mesh for breathability.

                • CUSTOMER CARE

                  A:

The Pro Resistance running shoe has a good rubber traction outsole, meant mainly for running and walking. I haven't tried them in wet conditions, you might want to go a bit slower on a wet surface or walk a bit to ensure they are getting the traction you need.

              • Q:

I bought the original SRR but after using them for a while I started feeling some leg fatigue. Not to be confuse by pain...there wasn't any pain. Just simple leg fatigue. I assumed it could be the weight of the shoe taking a toll on my legs. Mine is an US8.5 and weights 16.6 oz. I am looking to buy one of these next gen SRR but I am confused with which shoe to buy - ProResistance or ProSpeed. Your shoes are always comfortable so it looks as though if I buy the lightest I would be ok in terms of comfort, and since both have the Kinetic Return System (I love that by the way) I would be okay with either. I guess my question is: which one do you recommend; ProResistance or ProSpeed? Also what is the weight of both of those shoes on a US8.5 size? - Thanks
Asked on 10/30/2011 by JC from Miramar, FL

                1 answer

                • CUSTOMER CARE

                  A:

The ProSpeed shoe is a little bit lighter than the ProResistance, both are very good for running, walking and casual wear. The Pro Resistance is a little bit better for training, it has a bit more of a resistance to it. The weights should be stated in the description, both are very light weight - I'd estimate about 9 oz. for the ProSpeed per shoe, and 10 or 11 for the ProResistance.

                  A:

I would recommend the Pro Resistance first - it's specifically made for fitness running, jogging and walking. The Pro-TR is also very good if you are planning on combining your jogging with other fitness workout activities. The ProSpeed is a very good lightweight running shoe, so if you are looking for a lighter weight cushioned runner, that's ideal.

                • CUSTOMER CARE

                  A:

A pressure diffusion plate is part of the outsole of the shoe, it distributes ground reaction impact forces over a greater surface area for improved shock absorption. Vari-Lock is part of the lacing system, it's an extra set of lace holes at the top that allow you to secure the laces in several different methods, this is useful for high intensity running so the laces do not come untied. Lock-Fit is a design improvement in the shoe's collar that ergonomically cradles the foot and prevents heel slippage for a perfect fit. The Fit Band is an internal vertical mid-foot band that supports the foot for instep comfort and stability.
