I got these for my 5 yo son's Halloween costume (Darth Vader), and he was so excited to try them on! He hasn't taken them off since we got them, and I love the memory foam insole. The shoe isn't obnoxious in color and style and is unsuspecting when the lights are off. A great shoe!

My daughter wanted the plain black shoes so we got them for her she's in kindergarten and she absolutely loves them. She even had 3 of her friends but some after she did which made her feel cool lol. They look awesome at night and are great quality she charges them herself for the 2 hours I just put a timer for her. Would totally buy them again forget her if she's somehow messed them up!

The Energy Lights are good comfortable sneaks besides the light-up feature, so they can stand up to kids running and playing.

          A:

The Energy Lights shoes have a leather upper, they are not waterproof as they come, but I recommend applying a leather 'rain and stain' spray treatment to make them water resistant. The lights are sealed into the midsole, so they should not be affected by a little weather.

Is there a way to turn the lights off or do they blink all the time when in motion?

there is a button to turn the lights off and you could charge the battery

          A:

Energy Lights are fully activated and controlled by the 'Start' button on the tongue - the lights are not activated by walking or moving. The lights stay on in solid colors or in patterns - you change them with the button - until you turn them off.

My son recently got a pair of skechers s lights and lost the charging cable. Can he buy a replacement cable?

          A:

The Energy Lights shoes can be charged by any standard USB type charger cable - there should be no need to buy a replacement cable, chances are you should have several compatible cables for charging phones, tablets, etc.

      • S Lights: Energy Lights

        Q:

We just bought our son a pair if energy Lights yesterday and today some of the lights in them me left shoe aren't working. A couple of specific individual lights just don't light up with the rest or light up a different color than all the other lights on the shoe. It's charged all the way. Is there's anything I can do to "reset" them or does that sound like an defective show? Will customer service replace the pair since we still have the box and receipt?
Asked on 9/3/2017 by Kat from Fostoria, Ohio

        1 answer

        • Staff Reviewer

          A:

Customer Service will replace these if you are showing a defect, especially if you have the box and receipt. Most Skechers Retail stores will also replace these. Sometimes running through the light sequence and also holding the button at different points in the sequence (to shut off the lights) can help do a 'reset' but you may just have a defect.

          A:

You may want to try recharging again - sometimes the plug needs to be re-seated, or you may want to also try a different charging cord if only one shoe is having troubles. Once the plug is in place and connected to a power source, you should see the shoes blink red to indicate they are charging. Once it glows solid red, it's fully charged. If they truly will not charge even with all of that, you may want to contact customer service to see about a replacement.

The nice thing about the Energy Lights is that they are very clean, cool sneakers when the lights are not activated - your grandson can wear these to school and they would look very fashionable even without the lights on. I think these are the more 'mature' light up shoes since they can do so many different types of lights yet can also look nice without the lights on.
If it helps, these are getting to be very fashionable for older kids and even for adults. I've even got a pair!

          A:

You may want to see if these need to be recharged. Use the included USB charger cords, plug them into the charger ports in the shoes (under the tongue flap) and plug into a USB charger in a wall socket or USB power source. You should see the lights blink red to indicate they are charging, and then when the lights glow solid red, they are fully charged.

My is I bought a pair of the light up sketchers girls what do you do when you have a problem with one shoe . I think I have a short in the left shoe because it works sometimes and sometimes not . Can you help me with this problem I just bought the shoes not too long ago probably three weeks ago . And I'm not a child I am an adult so I'm really not rough on the shoes at all .?.
Asked on 6/13/2017 by Brenda from Windsor, Ontario

        1 answer

        • Staff Reviewer

          A:

You may want to do a full charge on the shoe that is having issues - plug in the charger until the red lights stop blinking. Then do a test and cycle through the light functions by pressing the button on the tongue. You should feel a little click in the button every time you change the colors or cycles. If you want to stop the lights, hold the button down for about two seconds. If the shoe is not working on the full cycle, or the stop function isn't working, you may have a short-out. In that case you may want to contact Customer Service (via email is best) for a replacement pair.
