GOrun Ride 7 has pretty much the one of best combination of materials, ride, and value for money out there. I simply cannot believe how under-the-radar Skechers Performance has been recently, but its products are undoubtedly superior.

So, for over a year now, I've been searching for cushioned, long mileage running shoes that would allow me to do 10 plus mile training runs and free of any pain from plantar fascia. I've tried on the most of the late model shoes from major brands, ranging from Nike Epic React, Adidas Supernova and Ultraboost, Reebok Floatriade, Hoka Hupana, and Under Armour HOVR Sonic. Not one was as simple or satisfying as GRR7. The upper is free of any unwanted pressure, except maybe the toebox could be higher by a fraction. The rocker shape provides butter smooth transitions regardless of heel or forefoot strike. The FlightGEN midsole foam is the real deal in terms of rebound and cushioning. Above all, those qualities can be had for less than $100.

Do yourself a favor a order a pair.

Nice shoe, good fit with ample cushioning. I don't run due to my age but I walk a lot and most note that this shoe and the last pair of performance Skechers I purchased make groaning sounds when I walk. Its rather embarrassing.

Comments about Skechers GOrun Ride 7:

The flightGen midsole is a dream to run on for easy/long/recovery runs. There is a softness there but certainly not squishy. It definitely gives the feeling of springiness with each stride. Great compliment shoe to my Razor 2 and Speed 5.

These shoes are seriously underrated. I used many but name shoes before switching to the go run series. This by far is the best shoe I've tried. Has a snappy feel. The flight gen is much improved from the 5 gen. Been on a 10 Mike run and legs felt fresh after. Only knock I had was for some reason my left heel. Other than that I definitely am going to purchase a pair in another color

Comfortable, smooth in transition. Only issue: shoe collar is high around ankles - takes time to break this area in.
Otherwise you rarely think about the shoe on a run because it's soooo smoooth.

                  Q:

You answered someones question about the new FLIGHT GEN foam and said "it was more well cushioned than the 5 GEN". That could be because Skechers added more foam this year to the Ride 7 because the FLIGHT GEN is a lighter than last years 5 GEN material. But if the 5 GEN and FLIGHT GEN are an equal amount of foam, which of the two is softer and more plush and which is more firm and responsive? Also are there any other advantages over the 5 GEN other than weight?

I have read all the reviews I can find about the Ride 7. I love the Gorun Ultra Road 2 and that shoe is very plush! All the reviews about the new FLIGHT GEN foam in the Ride 7 say it is responsive (firm) and bouncy. Have not seen any saying it was plush and responsive, is that even possible?

From what customers advise, the Skechers GOrun Ride 7 feels lighter and also feels more plush and well cushioned, while still retaining a nice responsive feel. It should feel more well cushioned than the previous generation GOrun Ride shoe.

From what most of our customers advise, the shoes should fit similar to most running type shoes. They should feel a bit more roomy in the toe and forefoot than other brands, but the length should compare the same.

I read about it in a review, and I saw it on a you tube video in a shoe convention with the guy from Skechers saying it just pulls out.
Maybe that is why they seem so tight on me ?

The Ride 7 is like two shoes in one, which is awesome. If the shoe is feeling too snug for you, take out the top sock liner. It opens up the shoes overall volume and it becomes a little snappier, a little more stable, and a LOT more comfortable. Give a try. There's a soft cushioned built in liner under it. You can always pop the additional top liners back in if you're not liking it.

The Skechers GOrun Ride 7 should come with both insole systems in the shoe - in order to modify the roominess of the shoe you can remove the top layer of the insole and use only the bottom layer of the insole - several customers have advised that opens up the fit of the shoe and adds a more roomy feeling.

To answer my own question now that I have a Ride 7, Yes, it does fit wider/better than the Ride 6. The removable sock liner makes it very versatile. Leave the sock liner in, and it works for narrower feet. Take the sock liner out, and the shoe's inner volume opens right up but is just as comfortable. Very supportive yet roomy. Not sure how Skechers struck such a good balance in this shoe, but they did it.

The latest Skechers GOrun shoes including the GOrun Ride 7 feature the FLIGHT GEN midsole cushioning design, this is a newer design that improves on the 5GEN design by being lighter weight and more responsive. The FLIGHT GEN will feel more well-cushioned than the 5GEN designs, and even lighter weight.
